I feel i have even more respect for anyone that has played some of these songs live (okay, well most of them have been played by us, but jesus christ, has anyone even attempted BARK AT THE MOON??? All i can say is its way easier on bass haha). God bless SG's and the Grim Reaper rockin' it.

So as some of you may know, some of my past entries (not as much this journal, but my "Maddoxica" is a prime example) are quite detailed and very opinionated. Lots of people have commented on the various subjects and shitfests that I've had something to do with. Like or dislike my arguments, one thing can be mentioned: I'm decent at writing. I enjoy writing amongst other things, and finally someone has the courtesy to acknowledge my potential. Never in my dreams would i except such an honour, but don't take my word for it! Watch.

Pink Floyd- Time |

Check back for my "shout outs" from this years Maddoxapolooza/Davestock 2006.
First off, Thursday night i went to a party. I drank and partied with some of my Bridgewater brotheren, and proceeded to bring in my birthday with a mere 12 pack of Keiths. Had a good time though. Crashed at 4am, got up around 7ish to take Robyn home and then go home myself. Slept till probably 12ish or so, then woke up to see a beautiful Crate BT220 Bassamp. This bitch is hot as fuck with built in octave/distortion channels and a built in tuner. It's balls loud too.
So i was fuckin' with it, having a grand old time, and the band comes over and we jam for a long time. Robyn gives me Bark At The Moon and Dark Side Of The Moon boxers! This was also the day i find out that all kinds of bands are dropping out. Fuckin' fantastic. I was going fuckin' nuts. I couldn't believe everything was falling apart. However, the band brought my spirits up, since i picked up The Man at the Irving, which is Manny Schwall! He came over, fucked everything up, and made us hungry for more. Crazy man. Robyn came over to try and calm me down, but unfortunately she was tired and fell asleep.
That night, i tossed and turned like crazy. I could not go to sleep for the life of me. I kept thinking everything would fall apart, like no one would show up or all the bands would just crap out. So many bands had, i was really discouraged. Finally i was awakened by Manny and Christian's stupidity, and we started jamming with Gill once she had arrived. The time came, and we went to the venue.
Getting everything started was fine, and then our set was so much fun. These are the songs we played:
Power Rangers/Children Of The Grave (by Black Sabbath)/Power Rangers Sultans Of Swing (kinda fast) by Dire Straits Another Brick In The Wall Part I/The Happiest Days Of Our Lives/Another Brick In The Wall Part II/Another Brick In The Wall Part III/Goodbye Cruel World by Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd Walk This Way by Aerosmith Diary Of A Madman by Ozzy Bark At The Moon by Ozzy
After the set, that's when everything went downhill. 3 shithead underaged drinkers start fucking shit up, by trying to beat up a chaperone. Yep, a chaperone. So what happens? All hell breaks loose. We managed to get them outside. That's where the fun began. They kept trying to hit all the chaperones, so i stepped up to the plate and threw one of the bigger fucks down hard into an SUV. One shithead gets in my face and tells me to pick some friends and take him on, while my bandmates were rolling up their sleeves just WAITING to jump in. However, turning 20 doesn't just bring age, it brings wisdom. It seems that night, i thought all my decisions out thoroughly and effeciently, and decided that fighting is the wrong idea and then tried calming them down. Well that seemed to work, until they were all at it again. My mother called 911, and then they all eventually took off. After that was over, i find out that there was a huge crowd just WAITING to jump in and help me out, and then once everything was taken care of i recieved a standing ovation and bowed to the adoring public, thus bringing in my 20th birthday and ending Maddoxapolooza/Davestock 2006 on a fine chord. Seems like everyone had a good time, and i'm insanely tired and stressed. Playing a show and then about to get in a fight is not a good idea, but i'm happy with how i handled it....
...Until i find out those fucks threatened not only my friends and chaperones, but even Robyn and my brother Jordan. I'm kinda glad they didn't tell me that, because i would have ripped their heads off. I know i'd still be in jail. Words can't describe how much rage i would have felt when everything was in full steam. So much for maturity at that point; thats crossing the line.
Anyways, that night we drank and had a good time. Woke up, Manny took off as did Dave and Robyn, then me and Christian were getting ready to go see WWE Backlash at Classics. About to drink a beer, i suddenly get a phone call. It was my sister in law, telling me that my wife was in a semi-mild car accident with a drunk driver. My heart sank. I was told she was okay, however she had pains in her neck back and nose. I guess she was the only one that was hurt. It still wasn't necessary, and if i had known which hospital she had went too, i would have said "screw the PPV" and visited her. She's doing better now, but still sore.
I think its going to be a DMB thing now where we excercise more. Lately we've been playing a lot of basketball and a lot less drinking than what we normally do. I think its a great idea, and i'm all for getting in shape. If i had people that are willing to do the same with me, then i'm hoping to drop a fuckload before the summer ends. I'm also thinking of getting a job at Walmart, since i was pretty much offered a full time job there in automotive. Time will tell.
Anyways, thats all for now. Those fucks will probably find me at work and fuck my shit up, so i guess thats something to look forward to. Sigh.
Thanks to everyone that came out to the show. Big thanks to those that were rolling up their sleeves and clenching their fists for me, really means the world.

Misfits - Where Eagles Dare |

Oh how i love guitar amps. The effects that can come with them are surely those that satisfy my needs as a bassist. It's so hard to find a bassamp that even has a distortion effect on it.
Yep, which is why i'm glad i'm getting a Crate BT220 15" Bassamp, courtesy of my 20th birthday! I gave that fucker a nice warm up, and the distortion on it is just lovely. Finally, a bassamp that provides distortion seemingly made for Black Sabbath's "NIB". Now to hook up the Wah, and it'll be heaven for my fingers and for my ears. All i'm looking for now, is a good strap (which reminds me kyle g: can i borrow your lock on strap?) and a kick ass delay pedal. DD3 is looking pretty tempting, i may casually go into strings n things and ask them if i can use it for a day or two to really get a good feel for it, then take it to the show hahaha. Diabolical, even.
So life is...well...nice i guess, although theres a lack of nice weather because everyone praised the good stuff. The show is coming up, and i've added a few more acts to the bill. 7 bands, 1 acoustic act for 7 bucks...that is truly amazing. I'm still looking for an after party.
Picked up my guitar recently, and its amazing how its still fun. I'd like to think i could fake my way through being a rhythm guitarist, but then all i do is watch Dave Merritt play and completely throw that idea out the window. I just like the overall "stuff" you can do with a guitar. Slide is probably the most coolest thing. Actually, Slide is 2nd to the almighty talkbox. Dave, you should let me gear the bass up with that, that would rule :p
I think everyone is coming back here on Saturday. We have some ideas on what we want to play, and i still really want to do that Medley. The bassamp i will be using will be PERFECT for it. I mean, me and Christian and Gill could do it at the very least haha.
Dad got talking to me today about the plans to move out. I feel pretty confident we'll kick some ass and have fun. My plan is to go to the shows up there, and make the contacts. I want to see what gets people going up there. It'll be a nice breath of fresh air.
Me and Robyn had KO's tonight, it was really delicious. Fast, even. Then we came back to my house, and my father had the killer idea to make me teach him "Wish You Were Here". Hilarious. All i can say, is he should stick with drums, because he just doesn't pick up on those kind of patterns at all. He's trying though. Then me and Robyn went to see Scary Movie 4. Terrible movie. Probably because the Wayan brothers have nothing to do with it, but in any event its really bad.
What the hell is even going on anymore? I'm so far out of wack, its insane. What's cool these days, kids? Tell me how you've been. Soon coming home from school/work/wherever the hell it was you were? Looking forward to the summer?
